Ghidoli was founded by Ferdinando “Ferdi” Ghidoli, using his vast experience in Italian cooking and running restaurants in South Africa. Ferdi’s mentor was his mother Gemma Ghidoli who taught him and his brothers everything about the authentic Tuscan style of cooking.
Ghidoli is inspired by Italy and specifically the Tuscan cooking traditions and values which focus on wholesome family cooking. The Ghidoli way is driven by tasty, rustic dishes, using recipes perfected by mamma Gemma and refined by Ferdi over the years to adapt to the South African climate and palate. All ingredients and recipes are authentic Tuscan in origin, whilst using locally sourced items as far as possible.
